Baga Touriga Nacional, by Luis Pato

Beiras, Portugal. Baga is the key grape varietal in Portugal’s Bairrada zone and Luis Pato is considered the “King of Baga.” This medium-bodied blend of 60% rustic Baga with 40% of the more elegant Touriga Nacional is a classic which brings out the best of both varietals – raspberry, violets and a hint of bitter chocolate – with just enough drying tannins to frame and sustain the finish.

Medium red with floral notes. Unlike a typical Touriga Nacional, this wine has no hint of oak. Fresh, with wonderful fine tannins that give a silky mouth feel.

The vines are non-irrigated, allowing for deep root systems that facilitate the perfect maturation of the grapes into robust and ripe wine that is fermented with indigenous yeasts before being bottled in aged barrels that enhances the beautiful characteristics of the grapes.

Vinha Do Carmo

Alfrocheiro, Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet varietals | Lisbon, Portugal

This red blend from Lisbon is comprised of indigenous varietals including Alfrocheiro, Aragonez, and Aliocante Bouschet. Delicate floral and wild berry aromatics. Balanced with concentrated flavors of dark cherry, wild berry, and waves of freshness. Beautifully textured with polished tannins, this wine shows the character of the region with its versatility!

Quinta do Poldrado

Bastardo, Shiraz, Touriga National, Alvarelhão | Trás-os-Montes, Northern Portugal

Harvested by hand and fermented with natural yeast. The maceration and fermentation are done in 200-year-old lagares, with the grapes being crushed by foot. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels for 1 year and 1 year in the bottle before release.

Dark, red-black robe and a complex nose with notes of red fruits and violets. On the palate, it is also complex and very fruity. The fruitiness lingers well on the finish.

Invés

The Las Setas is a single vineyard in the Arribas region of Tras-os-Montes, Portugal. It is made up of a diverse planting of centenarian bush vines, around 60% of which are red grapes, and 40% white grapes. The red grapes are mostly Tinta Gorda (often called Juan Garcia on the Spanish side of the border), the white grapes mostly Malvasia Fina, Dona Branca, and Síria. Whole clusters are fermented in lagar, followed by a quick aging in used 225L barrels. The vineyard has never been registered with the DOC, so they are not allowed to vintage date the wine, but it is all 2021 fruit.

Black and blue fruits are present on the palate, with medium body that can hold up well next to food.

Grenache (70%), Cariñena (15%), Syrah (15%), from Portugal. A rich, well-crafted wine with delicious ripe berry fruits and aromas of ripe peach, plum and apricot. A harmonious and exciting wine with refreshing acidity, a full red color and smoky mineral and balsamic elements. Good, long and rich with the added dimension of ripe fruit. Ideal as a partner to goat cheese, meat dishes, spicy stews. Very elegant and long.

Vira Cabeças Tinto

Alentejo, Portugal. Very fresh with inviting aromas of ripe black and red fruit, this wine has a silky soft, sultry mouthfeel and an unforgettable taste with spicy black pepper notes. Conde Vimioso

Tourita Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignin, Castelão, Aragonez, Trincadeira | Tejo, Portugal

Hand harvested and de-stemmed. Gently crushed and fermented in wooden vats following a long maceration. Aged in new and second year French oak barrels for 18 months before bottling.

Deep garnet in color. Mineral aromas, prune, wile blackberries, and spices on the nose. Soft, with robust and complex tannins which confer great aging potential. Red fruits bland in the structure with elegance. Ends with persistent notes of black fruits.

La Antigua Clásicol, Rioja Reserva

60% Garnacha, 30% Tempranillo, 10% Graciano | Rioja Spain

A classic style Rioja produced from high elevation vineyards located in the Sierra de la Demanda area of the Rioja appellation. Old vines of Garnacha planted since 1940. Vines are tended in mineral soils of red silica, which are very unique and rare in Rioja.

Deep red. Lively smoke- and spice-accented cherry and red berry aromas. On the palate, juicy raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that become sweeter once allowed to open up. Floral notes with fruit driven long finish with pleasant and persistent tannins.

Maçanita’s Letra F reflects the ever-evolving landscape in the wine world: a fresh, field-blend wine hailing from some of the most intriguing vineyard sites in the Douro from 70-110 year old vines. 70% red and 30% white grapes.

Ruby color. On the nose, red fruit tinged with white flowers and mineral notes. On the palate, fresh and lively, with bright acidity, showing intensity and concentration of aroma. Tannins are long, fine, and grippy, guiding this lighter-bodied red to a very saline finish.

João Pato- Nerd Duck

Natural from Portugal. This nerdy red wine is made from two indigenous white varietals, but spends some skin contact time with baga (a red varietal). The result is a brightly colored ruby red, with wild red fruit and rose petals on the nose. Spiced pear, plum, bay leaf, and white flowers on the palate. Light- medium body, refreshing mineral finish.

Chão de Sal

Azores, Portugal

A wonderful "secret" wine from Paulo Machado. It is a Palhete, which means co-fermentation of white and red grapes, mixed planted old vines that include Verdelho, Arinto dos Acores, Saborinho (i.e. Tinta Negra), and Isabella, one of many hybrid red varieties... all of which is not allowed to be produced commercially under EU regulations. Quite the rebel wine!

Crunchy strawberry fruit, hints of umami and a lot of character coming from the sea salt terroir, hence "floor of salt."

Grenache Blanc | Terra Alta, Spain

Vibrant, mineral-driven citrus and orchard fruit aromas are complemented by honeysuckle, ginger and a touch of quinine. On the palate, bitter pear skin and Meyer lemon flavors show very good depth and vivacity, along with a firming jolt of smoky minerality. The finish unwinds slowly, showing excellent concentration, persistence and lingering floral character.

This white has aromas of wet stones and a terrific earthy minerality. The wine shows a creamy texture in the mouth, with bright acidity that underpins the wine's structure, finesse, great complexity and great length on the palate.

Chinon "Mathilde" Rosé,

Created in 1987, our estate is located at "Les Chesnaies" in Cravant les Coteaux. We grow cabernet franc (for red and rosé wines) and chenin blanc (for white wines) on about 17 ha in Cravant les Coteaux and Chinon. Organic farming has been practiced for almost 20 years. Since 2005 the vines have been worked biodynamically, without the use of chemicals.

Dry, with a good body.

Uivo Curtido

Moscatel Galego | Douro, Portugal
a tart, refreshing orange wine that has come to somewhat define the category. 100% Moscatel Galego given around 4 months of skin maceration, done gently and never to exact too much tannin or color. The wine is beautifully aromatic, floral and enticing, with notes of lychee, green papaya and tangelo. The finish is long and salty, keeping you coming back for more.

Another great wine from Luis Pato, showcasing the Baga varietal. The grapes have a very brief maceration and are aged on the lees for 4 years.

Portuguese varietals of Gouveio, Malvasia Fina, Rabigato , Viosinho , Códega and Touriga Franca. Douro, Portugal. Citrus in color. Fine and persistent bubble with light and complex flavors of fruit and dried flowers with a nice tang of crisp acidity. A brioche note with a soft and well balanced mousse that is persistent and delicious.

Orange Pét-nat (a wilder version of a sparkling wine that is fermented in the bottle with no added C02) Hand painted bottles with funky tart yellow cherries and Ume plums. Fruity, zippy, minerally, and dry.

Bojo do Luar- Luiza Pet Nat Rosé

This is a Pet Nat rosé (naturally sparkling) made from 80% Espadeiro and 20% Loureiro that spends two months on the skins. All the vinification is done in a single 100-year-old, 1000L amphora and stomped by foot. Ground chestnut flowers are added to the fermentation to be used as an antioxidant, and it is unfiltered. Bright cherries with tart finish- perfect to share over a cheese plate.

This is cider with a twist! Fizzy, fresh, and fantastic! Strawberries, apples and fresh cranberries.
NUA Cider rose is an artisanal cider form the Douro region in Portugal. Made with 96% heirloom apples and 4% red grapes. Naturally sparkling, a little bit funky, and really fun.
